I am thankful that God has led me to Catholic Charities to meet and work with the poor. My life has been enriched spiritually and emotionally. My emotions are rarely neutral any longer, when I drive home at night, I'm either sky high about what we accomplished or heartbroken about what I learned. Serving the needs of the poor has been enriching, enlightening and rewarding. It has also been thought provoking. Did you know:
- The primary goal of the poor is to survive?
- The typical people we serve are single mothers with children?
- That domestic violence escalates over the holiday season?
- That transportation for the poor and elderly in rural America is a large barrier on the road to independence?
- That affordable housing is approaching crisis status for the poor in our area?
Please review our web site and read about all our programs. Let me know your thoughts. Your opinion is important to me. My hope is that you will become a proud supporter of our ministry. I have no product to offer. I can assure you that, if you can support us, your gift will not be wasted. It will assist the poor in Livingston County. All programs we operate encourage self-sufficiency through education and counseling. All services are provided regardless of religion, race, color, age, gender or national origin. We never charge a fee. Finally, volunteering your time and talents is a great way to support our ministry. As you review our programs, you will see opportunities to volunteer, especially in Faith in Action and Hope Youth Mentoring.
