VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Yard work and/or shovel snow

 

Program/Department:  Faith in Action

 

Description of Project/Purpose of Assignment:

Assist the frail, elderly or those with disabilities with outdoor work such as spring clean up, leaf raking in the fall, snow shoveling in winter.

 

 

Outline of Volunteer’s Responsibilities/List of Tasks:

To be established at Faith in Action Volunteer Orientation.

 

 

Training and Support Plan:

Initial one hour orientation by Faith in Action Program Director and ongoing support via telephone or e-mail.

 

 

Skills/Qualifications Needed for Assignment:

§      Physically able to do outdoor chores

§      Caring and kind

§      Dependable and responsible

§      Enjoy helping the elderly

§      Background check

 

Time Commitment:

§      Flexible—help once a year or several times per year, depending on your availability and needs of elderly in your town.

 

 

Location/Geographic Area of Assignment:

§      Close to home!  Volunteer are matched in their home town. (in Livingston County) It’s about neighbors helping neighbors.

 

 

Reporting required:

§      Report to Faith in Action director upon completion of work
